The SRCM North American ashram is located in Molena, Georgia, about 60 miles south of Atlanta. The facility at this serene, 32-acre wooded hilltop setting can accommodate about 200 people. When we have larger gatherings and when Master comes, accommodation for sleeping and for meditation is provided in large tents. The atmosphere at the ashram is always spiritually charged, and the calm and peace that prevails there is conducive for spiritual pursuit.

Molena Ashram Term-Residency is a program for abhyasis who would like to live at the Molena Ashram for a defined period of time, be a part of the community, and get a feel for ashram life and organization. The Term-Residency program is for abhyasis who are able to dedicate 1 to 6 months to staying at the ashram and would like to devote that period of time to both spiritual evolution and active participation in the work and other ashram activities. There is no fixed fee for the program, but term-residents may be asked to contribute nominally toward the cost of food, and utilities.

Living at an ashram provides a unique experience of being in a special atmosphere conducive to change and spiritual evolution. At the ashram, you will have a designated prefect and will be able to participate in satsanghs. From time to time, there will also be study and training programs on the Sahaj Marg philosophy and way of life. The term-residency is also an experience of brotherhood, sincere devotion to practice and of working together with sisters and brothers. In that sense, a term-residency is a way to learn how to integrate Sahaj Marg into your life. What is more, a term-residency will provide an understanding of living in and managing an ashram. In other words, the term-resident will get a feel for the special lifestyle in an ashram and for the way activities and seminars are organized there.

The term-residency will be a balance of three components: spiritual immersion, practical work, and brotherhood.

Spiritual Immersion

Molena is a retreat center surrounded nature and charged with a unique spiritual atmosphere. As stated, one or more term-resident prefects will be available. You will be able to attend regular satsanghs and dedicate yourself to spiritual evolution. In addition, participating in self-study and using the Ashram library is a part of the spiritual program.

Practical Work

Together with caretakers at the ashram, you will identify the tasks that are appropriate for you. These may be a variety of duties or a more dedicated project. Some of the work areas at the ashram are:

• The kitchen
• Gardening
• Building maintenance
• Organizing and preparing seminars
• Expansion Project

Brotherhood

The ashram is very much a place for people to come together in a spiritual setting. This is true for those who live at the ashram, but also for abhyasis who live in the neighborhood or farther away from the ashram. Abhyasis come to Molena from Atlanta and regional centers not only during weekends to participate in satsangh, but also for the many seminars on the ashram calendar.

We will limit the number of term-residents to ten at any given time period due to the limited facilities. Prior to a term-residency, we will communicate with you about the following questions:

• What motivates you to come and live for a period of time at the Molena Ashram?
• How many years have you been practicing Sahaj Marg?
• What, if any, are your experiences in doing volunteer work?
• What is your current situation in life (e.g. are you in a transition between jobs)?
• Will you have health insurance coverage during your stay at the ashram?

Term-Residency applications will be processed in communication with your prefect and regional coordinator and the Secretary of the mission.
